Elder Care

For the last 20 years Kelly, Kelly & Kelly has focused on ensuring our older clients have trusts and powers of attorney in place which enable their most trusted family members or friends to assist them in the event they are no longer able to handle their own affairs.

Many older adults wish to stay in their homes for as long as they are physically and mentally capable of doing so. Our firm allows them to put these wishes in writing so that they are respected by their loved ones.

As our clients age, some seek assistance in the hiring of full-time or part-time help to assist them in their own homes. In the alternative, other clients might ask legal advice in reviewing contracts related to relocation to a retirement residence. Together with this important decision clients seek assistance in the sale of their primary residence. Each of these tasks requires coordination with real estate brokers, moving companies, and other experts involved in the care and relocation of clients in transition.

We also assist our older clients in the following areas:

    • Hiring CNAs or other home care workers to keep client in his/her own home as long as reasonably possible.
    • Payment of household employee, payroll taxes, unemployment compensation, yearend W-2s or 1099s as the case may be.
    • Location of appropriate retirement facility, when necessary. Review contract application for residential care and coordinate the move into facility.
